Mother Files Suit Over Car Accident That Killed Daughter

August 15, 1987|The Morning Call

The mother of a 15-year-old Northampton teen-ager killed in an auto accident last year has filed suit in Northampton County against three individuals she says are responsible for the accident.

Rosalie B. Billheimer of 1044 Canal St. is seeking damages from Susan Marie Mason, Northampton R.2, and Edward Tanzoes Jr. and his father, Edward Tanzoes Sr., both of West End Road, Moore Township.

Billheimer's suit says that on May 25, 1986, her daughter, Tara Williams, attended a party at the Tanzoes residence at which alcoholic beverages were provided. Mason, then 17, also attended the party and became intoxicated, according to the suit.

After the party, Williams was a passenger in Mason's car when Mason failed to negotiate a curve and lost control. The vehicle struck a utility pole and a tree. Williams was thrown from the car and died.

Billheimer is seeking unspecified damages in excess of $20,000 in each of two counts against each of the defendants.
